Why Should I Choose You?

What makes you different than other therapists?

I am high energy, intuitive and am always learning. I constantly look for the newest and best therapies available for our clients, from homework to a new way of thinking about a problem. I was trained in multiple disciplines, from social work to crisis intervention, long term therapy to brief problem-specific therapy. Because of this, I have a ton of resources both in the community and online to supplement and enhance therapy.

What modality do you use? (In other words, how do you therapy?)

I am eclectic, I use what will work with our clients. That being said, I use a base of Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in which one will learn why they do what they do and how to change our reactions. I also utilize Narrative, which tells us that everyone has a story and when we change our story, we change our path. For children, I will also use play therapy, in order to help them communicate more effectively.

Fees and Insurance

What are your fees?

My basic fees are $150 for individual, couple or family therapy, for a 50 minute session. There is possibility of sliding scale, depending on availability and need.

Are you an in-network provider for any insurance?

I am an “out of network provider” for insurance networks but will provide you a Superbill which you may use to request reimbursement. The coverage you receive is entirely dependent upon the plan that you have. I recommend that you contact your insurance company directly to determine your specific coverage. Some questions that may be helpful in this conversation include:

  1. Do I have mental health insurance benefits that cover psychotherapy?
  2. Does my policy cover an out of network Licensed Psychologist? If so, what percentage is covered or what is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  3. What is my deductible and has it been met?
  4. Are my medical and mental health/behavioral health deductibles separate?
  5. How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  6. Does the diagnosis matter? Are some diagnoses covered and others not?
  7. What paperwork or forms do I need to submit for sessions to be covered?
  8. Is approval required from my primary care physician?
