What makes you different than other therapists?
We are high energy, intuitive and are always learning. We constantly look for the newest and best therapies available for our clients, from homework to a new way of thinking about a problem. Julia was trained in multiple disciplines, from social work to crisis intervention, long term therapy to brief problem-specific therapy. Riah was trained in brain-spotting, CBT, DBT and various other modalities while working in county based mental health clinics. Together, we have a ton of resources both in the community and online to supplement and enhance therapy with us.
What modality do you use? (In other words, how do you therapy?)
We are eclectic, we use what will work with our clients. That being said, we use a base of Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in which one will learn why they do what they do and how to change our reactions. We also utilize Narrative, which tells us that everyone has a story and when we change our story, we change our path. For children, we will also use play therapy, in order to help them communicate more effectively.
Fees and Insurance
What are your fees?
Julia’s basic fees are $130 for individual, couple or family therapy, for a 50 minute session.
Riah’s basic fees are $100 for individual, couple or family therapy.
Do you accept a sliding scale?
Yes, depending on availability and need. Riah’s availability is more flexible than Julia’s.
What form of payments do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. We also accept checks or cash.
Are you an in-network provider for any insurance?
Julia has limited space for insurance, and is working to become private pay based only. Riah is private pay based only. In some instances, we can give you a super-bill to collect money from your insurance company as we are out of network providers.

How do I contact you?
Even if you just have questions, please call (or text) us at (916) 365-2636 or email us. Emailing us is the best way to contact us as we see the emails pretty much within an hour and can reply at all hours. Phone calls are a little more difficult, but we try to return all calls within one business day (Mon-Thurs). If, for some reason, we have not called you back, please feel free to call or email us again as sometimes messages are garbled or difficult to understand and we haven’t gotten the correct number.
Is there anything I need to do before my appointment?
It’s your choice, you can fill out your packet for intake (located below) ahead of time, or you can come in a half hour early (at least) and fill out a packet ahead of time. The packets can also be downloaded and filled out and emailed to us, then we can have you sign the pages when you come in.
